How and when should I take my herbs?  There are dosage instructions on all of the products available here.  For the best effect, take your herbs with warm or room temperature water, slightly away from food (30 minutes before or 1 hour after).  If you experience digestive difficulties, however, you can take the formulas with a little food instead of on an empty stomach.

Can I take more that one formula at the same time?  There are several factors to consider when answering this question.  First,check to see if there are overlapping herbs in the formulas. You don't want to get too much of one substance.  If there are overlapping herbs you can lower the dosage of both formulas.  Don't take additional formulas that are treating the same condition.  You might be able to increase the dosage of one instead of taking the additional.  If you have is a question about a specific formula please see a practitioner or contact us.

Can I take herbs with prescription medications?  Herbs are powerful medicine.  If you are taking prescription Western medication we encourage you to check with your doctor and consult an experienced herbalist.  If you have is a question about a specific formula please see a practitioner or contact us.

Can I take herbs while pregnant or nursing?  Do not take herbs while pregnant or nursing unless you are under the direct care of a physician or experienced herbalist who specifically prescribes herbs for you.

Can I take herbs during menstruation?  Assuming that the herbs in question are not specifically prescribed for menstrual related conditions such as heavy bleeding or pain, we recommend that women stop taking herbs during menstruation.  If you have a question about a specific formula please see a practitioner or contact us.

Can I take herbs when I have a cold or flu?  There are some strengthening or tonifing herbs that are not appropriate to take during acute stages of a cold and flu because they can strengthen the pathogens.  There are, however, a variety of herbal remedies that are very effective in treating cold and flu that are ideal to take when ill.  It is best to discontinue tonic formulas until the acute illness has passed.

Can I order a formula from you that I don’t see on your website?  Yes.  If you have a particular formula that you would like us to carry for you we would be glad to do so.
